India plans to invest US $1billion in environmentally friendly papermaking

in order to implement the requirements of the Tokyo protocol and catch up with the new world environmental standards, Indian paper industry will invest US $1billion in the next five years for environmental governance and protection. At present, the industry has signed an agreement with the Ministry of forests and environment of India to ensure that it can carry out complex data analysis and implement the new international environmental protection standards by 2008

more than 400 representatives from India and abroad attended a conference on environmental protection technology and management of pulp and paper industry, which discussed the problems faced by the industry in terms of capital, technology, raw materials and so on. Nevertheless, after reaching FM, the industry still urgently requires to take measures to implement new forest protection policies, and should call on enterprises to actively develop a broader range of pulp raw materials
